I'm a female pinstripe artist from Northern California. My work is inspired by the creativity of Kenneth 'Von Dutch' Howard, Ed Roth, Robert Williams, and many others that gave rise to the art of pinstriping and the early world of custom culture. I'm proud to be among the many great modern day 'low brow artist' and pinstripers who do what they love and love what they do. That's inspirational in itself!
By a practice driven and self taught method, I've learned that pinstriping is a skill first talent second. As my skill developed, I noticed my artistic ability playing a part and I began to fine tune my Kandystriper style. This gave rise to the images and designs that often make their way into my line work. I like to think of it as automotive tattooing. With a Kandystriper "K" signature.
All my work is freehand and I rely heavily on the curves of the old car or character of the project, and the client for that matter! My work is never limited to things with wheels, nor is it to just lines. Lettering, gold leafing,
and fine art with enamel or acrylic
is part of my passion as well.
